Week 40

For Mother’s Day, Justin surprised me with the most thoughtful gift — tickets to one of my favorite bands, UB40! Even better, the concert was held just down the road from our home at the Chandler Center for the Arts (one short Uber ride away).

Before the concert, we enjoyed dinner at The Brickyard. The timing worked out perfectly, as the concert fell during fall break on a Tuesday night, so the kids stayed down in Casa Grande with Pa and Gee, and Justin took two days off work.

Earlier that day, before our fun night out, we spent time filming video promos (with lots of wardrobe changes!) for the podcast, and I even recorded a few new audio episodes. Fun times with my guy.

The morning after the concert called for some “Los Favs” and the ability to lounge a bit.

Mom texted me a photo of Emma on the couch, and I was shocked by how grown-up she looked. The photo of the kids on the couch was taken when they opened Jessie’s (Chase’s best friend’s) wedding invitation. The girls are extra excited because they’re helping me plan the wedding.

Thursday called for our initial appointment at the orthodontist’s office. I wasn’t prepared for how long the appointment was going to be. The kids did well, but wow — information overload and a few minor meltdowns occurred.

After our loooong visit at the ortho office, we hurried over to cousin Elise’s “Addams Family” play, as she was playing Wednesday Addams.

It’s fun to live close enough to Bri to share in the sweet girls’ performances. And the kids LOVE watching plays.
